Whether you are studying natural medicine, a healing arts professional, or just wanting to start your own herbal medicine chest, our friendly and helpful staff are available to help you find what you need. Buy herbs in bulk, ready-made high quality tinctures and formulas, or custom blend your own teas and extracts.
Apothecary Hours
Office: Tuesday-Friday 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (Phone calls and emails answered)

We do not check e-mail or phone messages Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Thank you for your patience!

ORGANIC HERBAL EXTRACTS
The large majority of our herbal extracts are made by our experienced faculty, or students under strict faculty supervision. We use organic menstruums and organic plant material locally and sustainably gathered as much as possible. Other non-locally sourced herbs used for extracts have been carefully chosen from outstanding reputable companies and individual farms with a commitment to sustainability.
Alcohol Extracts
Herbs extracted in alcohol distilled from organically grown grapes, organic cane sugar, or organic grains. Over 80% of our extracts are made using organically grown or wildcrafted herbs locally sourced within 20 miles of ASHH. Many of our herbs come from Soulflower Botanical Sanctuary. Water used in alcohol extracts is sourced either from pristine Appalachian springs including one at Soulflower Botanical Sanctuary or Artesian well water from Soulflower.
The best way to take alcohol extracts is in 2 to 4 ounces of water. Room temperature water is best for absorption. However, if you have a sensitive physical system, feel free to dilute herbal alcohol extracts in tea or juice.
Sold by the ounce $11/ounce (includes the bottle). Shelf life is approximately 5 years. Store in a dark, cool area.
$10/ounce if you’d like to bring your own clean empty bottle.
